I was born in California, but grew up in Texas. Do I tell people I'm from California or Texas?

Whoa same here! I was born in California but moved around a lot until I was 9, when we moved to Texas and never did again. Because there were several places I grew up in, I just say I was born in California and explain about my moving history if people ask more.
