I have $5000 dollars in credit card debt. After its paid, how long does it take get my credit in good standing

I have some credit card debt from my younger, credit card happy days.....I also have $45,000 in student loans that I've recently began paying. Once its paid (credit cards), will I ever be able to have good credit meaning, has this debt hurt me forever even when I pay it off?? Also, should I consolidate this debt into one payment or handle them individually? .Thank you in advace :)
