Paranormal Romances - JR Ward vs Gena Showalter?

Gena Showalter is hit or miss for me. Some of her books I've liked, others I've found just okay reads. Have you tried reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters series? If you haven't why don't you give it a try. I suspect that you will probably like it.
