Thrift store charges $3.00 per VHS movie. Is that overpriced?

My local rip off thrift store, run by old ladies who are senile has now marked the VHS movie tapes up to $3.00 each. These are not rare movies, but titles such as Independence Day and Juric Park. I think this is highway robbery. VHS is obsolete and is no longer being made. So why the high price? Alot of those movies have been there for 6 months or more. Majority of people get dvds, unless it is a hard to find movie that is only on VHS. What do you think? How much should VHS be worth?
