Extracurricular activities in high school?
i am going to be a freshman in high school this summer. i want to participate in many extracurricular activities for many reasons, one of them being that I want to go to a great university, such as Ivy League schools (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc.) As a result, i wanted to participate in soccer and marching band in the fall. However, they said i could only do one thing. Now, i am stuck. I'm outstanding playing the flute(well, better than most high schoolers), but the marching band program is not very good. On the other hand, I am above average in soccer. I have not played soccer since 5th grade, because i played american football, but my parents do not want me to play football in highschool. Also, i have ankle problems which could cause injuries during soccer. I would like to do both, but obviously i cannot do it. Which activity should i do? For winter, i am planning to do basketball(i am okay, but if i am going to practice all summer, which could increase my chance of making the team) and in the spring, i'm going to do track&field(above average in sprinting and long jump). Should i do 2 sports(soccer&track), 3 sports, 2 sports(bball&track)and 1 music, or track and marching band??? i am going to participate in other activities such as science olympiad, JETS(engineering thingy), and solar bike.
