What is the best beach to live by in california?

in a couple years me and my friend are planning to move to california (im currently stationed in cali already, but im in the desert) and i want to know what is the best beach/location to move to? we were just planning to move to san diego, but i was looking at places like malibu and hollywood and san fran also.
